Client:  IWDA, Monash University, YWCA

Project Date: Jun – Nov 2017

About the Project:

International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA), Monash Gender, Peace and Security Centre (Monash GPS) and World YWCA co-hosted a collaborative workshop in October 2017, on exploring the approaches to and impact of Young Women’s Leadership in the Asia-Pacific. The purpose of the workshop was to provide the opportunity for young women leaders, academic researchers, policy makers and the NGO community to share experiences and knowledge of supporting and understanding young women’s leadership and the impact it has on building strong communities. As part of this four-day program, Storyscape facilitated a two-day participatory video workshop where three short films were made by the young women. These films told stories about their perspectives and hopes for young women as leaders in their various countries across the Asia Pacific Region.

The young women showed these films to decision makers in Canberra the following day and we continue to hear how they are showing their films and giving talks about women and leadership around the world.
