Client: Parks Victoria

Project Date: Sep 2014-Nov 2014

About the Project:
Storyscape was asked to produce a film for Parks Victoria to show in one of the sessions at the UN World Parks Congress in Sydney 2014. The talk highlighted the benefits of children playing and learning in nature, and discussed how Parks Victoria is encouraging kindergartens and schools to spend time in Parks as part of their regular programming. In making the film, Storyscape joined two different kindergartens on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne who both have an outdoor program and spend a day a week at the beach, in the bush, or at the wetlands. We filmed the experiences and perspectives from children and educators and also asked children to take their own photos and record audio stories to gain their perspective on playing in nature. These were also used in the film.
